These plots highlight the new
polygon drawing capacity of version 5 of Ferret. However in spite of this improvement, we consider that Ferret
is still not completely adequate for plotting model output on complicated
grids, particularly for the intercomparison planned during OCMIP.
We are continuing the development of a dedicated tool called GAP (see further).
Nevertheless, Ferret calculation capacities will be used as a rapid checking
tool. Thus Ferret scripts will be released and distributed to OCMIP members for
preliminary model output verification.
The beta release of the
GOSAC Analysis Package (GAP) will be distributed soon (mid-september).
The product is based on the Tecplot software from Amtec company and will
offer you the possibility to make comparison of models on their original
grid. Here is a link on the presentation
made at the last OCMIP meeting.
